As a Cantorial Soloist, Heather Hoopes Seid serves the many diverse needs of her community. She is a teacher, guide, and is always there to listen.
She will be graduating from the Academy for Jewish Religion California in 2023 with a Master's in Sacred Jewish Music and Smicha as a Cantor.
She is collects Yadayim and Jewish Hymnals and is currently singing through the 1914 Union Hymnal with Cantor, Cantorial Soloists, and singers from all over the country.

The history of Congregation Beth Israel dates back to the 1880’s and is the first permanent Jewish community in Flint, MI.
Heather will join with Rabbi Emily Holtzman to lead Rosh Hashanah, Shabbat Shuva, and Yom Kippur services.

Ner Tamid of Poway, California is a progressive Conservative synagogue - egalitarian, innovative, inclusive, and welcoming - affiliated with the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. We connect Jews to Torah and to each other, building Jewish community and identity in North County San Diego for over 30 years.
Heather will serve Ner Tamid Synagogue as Cantorial Intern for the 2020-2021 school year.

18 So Cal Cantors - Akdamut

Akdamut is a piyyut from the 11th century, attributed to Rabbi Meir ben Yitzhak who lived in the Worms region of the Rhineland (Germany). For this video, eighteen Southern California cantors contributed to recording the ninety lines of Akdamut, using the traditional melody which is said to be a thousand years old.
